Let's be clear: there are many issues with flower cultivation. Many growers use excessive amounts of pesticides and fertilisers, which damages soil and water quality. Good working conditions are also often not a priority in the sector.

We certainly don't believe that we can solve all the problems in the floriculture industry overnight. However, we are convinced that, as a medium-sized florist, we can contribute to positive change by working together with our national network. By raising our own standards step by step, we can help the entire sector improve.

We achieve this primarily by carefully considering how our flowers are grown when we purchase them. We offer certifications such as MPS-A+, Organic and On the Way to PlanetProof to guarantee this. These certifications guarantee that the flowers are grown more sustainably and that growers have good working conditions. As these certifications become more stringent, the flowers become more sustainable and socially responsible. While not every variety of flower is always available with these certifications, the majority of the flowers we purchase are certified. This is also necessary to maintain our own Gold certification.

As well as using sustainably grown flowers, we work hard in other areas to minimise the environmental and social impact of our bouquets. You can always hold us accountable for the following:

• We package every bouquet in an environmentally friendly way, using as little plastic as possible and no glitter.
• Funeral flowers are arranged in eco-friendly floral foam.
• We do not use chlorine-based cleaning products.
• We separate our waste.
• We deliver bouquets using clean vehicles, such as bicycles and electric cars.
• We provide a safe work environment where everyone who loves flowers can thrive.
